Despite winning the turnover battle, the Giants helped the Cowboys win the season opener.
Many fans will look to poor clock management at the end of the game, with Eli Manning snapping the ball with time left on the play clock. That’s almost funny because usually the Giants seem to have the slowest huddle and snap in the NFL. Then when the game is winding down they are on speed.
Some people will blame the play calling. A pass play on 3rd down at the end of the game in short yardage?
Some people will blame Preston Parker, who dropped 3 3rd down passes. I blame Parker too, but really I can’t say I’m surprised. You wouldn’t know that Parker’s job is to catch the ball if you only had his game tape to go on.
Some people will blame the illegal formation penalty that stopped the clock for Dallas.
Some people will blame the Giants defense. No pass rush. Dallas offense controlled the ball. Dallas offense had 2 easy scores at the end of the game.
In the end, the Giants looked like a poorly coached and the less talented team. The Giants deserved to lose. Might as well start the season with the taste of my own vomit in my mouth. Might have to build up a tolerance.
